This will be a little bit different from our other blogs. We get so many questions all the time that we thought it would be fun to do a “rapid fire Q & A” with some of our most popular questions!
Nope! We are just a mineral additive that optimizes empty water (distilled, RO, deionized, Zero Water) for brewing coffee. Water filters can be tricky to understand when using Third Wave Water minerals, so if your coffee maker has a filter in it, you may want to readthis article for more information on how that could impact your results with our minerals!
Since there is no official SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certification, no. However, the Classic Profile and Espresso Profile both fall within the SCA guidelines for water for coffee.
We recommend storing at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Youcan store it in the refrigerator, but you don’t need to. It will also make your coffee maker/kettle need to work harder to heat your water up so you may not want that.
Yes we do! The Classic Profile works great for tea. Many of our customers use it and have amazing results. Some tea blogs typically recommend 80-150 TDS (total dissolved solids). Our profile is 150 TDS and high in magnesium, helping provide natural sweetness in the flavor profiles.
