This will be a little bit different from our other blogs. We get so many questions all the time that we thought it would be fun to do a “rapid fire Q & A” with some of our most popular questions!
Question 1: Does Third Wave Water purify or filter water?
Nope! We are just a mineral additive that optimizes empty water (distilled, RO, deionized, Zero Water) for brewing coffee. Water filters can be tricky to understand when using Third Wave Water minerals, so if your coffee maker has a filter in it, you may want to readthis article for more information on how that could impact your results with our minerals!
Question 2: Are any of Third Wave Water’s products SCA certified?
Question 3: How do I store my mixed Third Wave Water? Does it need to go in the refrigerator?
We recommend storing at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Youcan store it in the refrigerator, but you don’t need to. It will also make your coffee maker/kettle need to work harder to heat your water up so you may not want that.
Question 4: Do you have a profile for tea?
Yes we do! The Classic Profile works great for tea. Many of our customers use it and have amazing results. Some tea blogs typically recommend 80-150 TDS (total dissolved solids). Our profile is 150 TDS and high in magnesium, helping provide natural sweetness in the flavor profiles.
Question 5: Which profile should I use in my Keurig?
You can use Classic Profile, Espresso Profile, or Dark Roast Profile in your Keurig. It all depends on your flavor preferences and what K-cups you like to use. For more information on this topic, check outthis article.
